This is a project that involves designing three outside information boards for the local community orchard. These board have to contain a lot of information about the project as well as plans and diagrams explaining what varieties of trees have been planted and where. I've designed the boards so they cross reverence with one another so people will be able to find their own tree dedications. As these will sit in a woodland setting I've used greens and creams as the colour scheme. I've designed the diagram on this board to be colour referenced to illustrate the layout of the different tree types in the orchard.
This second information board details the birds and wildlife to be found in the orchard. I designed the original diagram so it could be taken apart, this means it is consistent with the style of the first board. The trees are not planted in a grid format for this area so they are positioned randomly within the outline shape. The information panels with simple logos direct the viewer to the other boards for further information about particular subjects. I have used sepia images to illustrate some of the animals and plants.
The main purpose of this information board is so that people can find their own tree dedications. This diagram brought to light some additional data in that is shows the fruit tree distribution across the orchard. It will hopefully make finding a particular tree fairly straight forward.
